Therapeutic Foster Care

We are currently seeking Therapeutic Foster Care Parents. If you are interested in finding out more about how you change the life of a child, contact us at 931-362-4723. Oak Plains Academy’s therapeutic foster care program is designed to serve children and youth with special psychological, social and emotional needs who can accept and respond to the close relationships within a family setting, but whose special needs require more intensive or therapeutic services than are found in traditional foster care.

Our foster parents are provided with initial and ongoing training in PATH (Parents As Tender Healers) to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to provide for child with intensive needs.

Oak Plains Academy’s therapeutic foster care program provides 24/7 access to case managers to provide on-going support and crisis intervention. Our case managers are therapeutically trained to assess situations that may arise so that our foster parents have a knowledgeable support system through Oak Plains.

Through our therapeutic foster care department, services needed by a child or family are provided and coordinated by our foster parents and case managers in partnership with the Department of Children’s Services.

We strive to provide a safe, stable environment for children in custody until they can reach permanency through reunification, adoption, post custody or other kinship options.

If you would feel like you are able to provide for a child in need, please contact our Director or Foster Care Services Recruiter/Trainer at 931-362-4723.
